I had an absolute blast shooting with Kim Truax (MM # 1733704) this past Saturday. It was a lively shoot with a great model, and now a friend. Kim was energetic and has the glamour of an old Hollywood starlet. Check out some of my other pics, and you will see hints of great actresses. Personally I see a stunning resemblance to Bette Davis.
I have been obsessed with pin-up art for years, and after meeting with Kim and discussing the type of shoots we are mutually interested in I came up with a bandana bikini theme. A throw back to a time when women were sick of the full coverage bathing suits available for purchase and resorted to fashioning something more revealing out of scarves or in this case bandanas.
Sure, it looks like it is tied on, but believe me I was up way too late the night before obsessing over its creation and sewing it. A tough job considering I didn't have Kim's measurements on hand. But I designed something that worked, and in a colour that looks particularly brilliant against her pale skin. Mmmm....contrast is my best friend.
I have so many shots from this shoot that I love. It is summery, bright, fresh and perfectly reflects where I am artistically at the moment. I am incredibly happy I had the opportunity to collaborate with Kim on this one. Greatly looking forward to future collaborations!

Leap Frog
The other day I was hanging out with a friend...and we talked about taking a couple photos so I brought my camera along.....2 hours, three outfits and 300 pictures later...
I must say that the results are easily the best examples of my work thus far, and my ratio of good to bad shots is improving. So that is something. I think I am progressing, and the shots I took made her very happy and made her mother cry.
The location for the shoot was Hicks Lake, BC, Canada.
